The Herbert Bearman Foundation, Inc., seeks to fund programs in greater Baltimore, Maryland, Palm Beach County, Florida, and Israel. Other geographic areas may be considered under exceptional circumstances.
The Foundation prefers funding specific projects; however, grants for general operating support and new initiatives may be considered if short term needs can be demonstrated. The Foundation will not make grants for scholarships and has limited interest in funding capital or endowment campaigns. Grants will be awarded to only 501(c)(3) organizations. Funding generally will be limited to one year with a possible renewal based upon evaluation of goal achievement.

The Laing Family Trusts owe their origin to Sir John Laing, a devout Christian and founder of the international construction company. The company was involved in many pioneering projects, including the construction of the Second Severn Crossing. Successive generations of the Laing family have built on Sir John’s example of Christian philanthropy. The four grant-making trusts which are administered under the umbrella of the Laing Family Trusts are: the Beatrice Laing Trust, the Kirby Laing Foundation, the Martin Laing Foundation and the Maurice & Hilda Laing Charitable Trust.

The RAITH Foundation was registered as a Trust in March 2001. It is a Non-Profit Organisation and has tax-exempt status. The Foundation is privately funded, not politically affiliated and does not raise funds from the public.
The RAITH Foundation is concerned that systemic injustice and unfairness prevail in South Africa and seeks effective and lasting solutions, which address this at its roots. Since 2010, the Foundation has been implementing a programme of social justice grant-making. For the Foundation, implicit in the notion of social justice is the issue of equity and particularly equitable access to resources. Our definition is thus closely aligned to principles of fairness and dignity.

As a responsive funder we listen to what our applicants think is important rather than pursuing our own agenda.
We support organisations whose work has reach and significance across the UK. In order for our funds to have as wide an impact as possible we look for charities that have a national footprint.
We will support core costs or projects, depending on what is most needed. We are happy for our grants to be used as matched funding.
We wish to be flexible in our funding. We do have funding criteria but there are times when we will venture outside them if we believe it would be more effective.
