We fund projects in two distinct areas: programs that 1) enhance communication in engineering 2) recruit and retain women in engineering with a focus on programs that a) encourage middle school girls to go into engineering and b) improve the retention rate of undergraduate women in engineering.
What We Fund
Engineering Information Foundation makes grants to qualified not-for-profit organizations. Our grant activity supports developmental projects, instructional projects, and training programs in engineering education and research that fit our fields of interest.

The Allan and Nesta Ferguson Charitable Trust was set up in 1979 by their son and daughter in law, John and Elnora. Its objectives closely follow the interests of the Ferguson family and their commitment to education, peace, and reducing poverty in developing countries. John and Elnora spent many happy years working across the world, helping to develop teaching practices, promote understanding and support people to live safely and happily. Since 1979, nearly £60 million has been distributed to a range of charities, working in the UK and overseas, funding projects that work towards these objectives.

The Industrial Development Corporation (IDC) of South Africa Limited was established in 1940 through an Act of Parliament (Industrial Development Corporation Act, 22 of 1940) and is fully owned by the South African Government.
IDC priorities are aligned with the national policy direction as set out in the National Development Plan (NDP), Industrial Policy Action Plan (IPAP) and industry Master Plans. Our mandate is to maximise our development impact through job-rich industrialisation, while contributing to an inclusive economy by, among others, funding black-owned and empowered companies, black industrialists, women, and youth-owned and empowered enterprises.
Simultaneously, the IDC must ensure its long-term sustainability through prudent financial and human resource management, safeguard the natural environment, and increasingly position itself as a Centre of Excellence for development finance.
